Discovering Perugino
Places, exhibitions, works

A long voyage inside Perugino’s artistic world begins on the 28th February and lasts until the 18th July.
Paintings and drawings are the main attraction of this exhibition in the   National Gallery of Umbria in Perugia.  There are renowned paintings coming from all over the world, extraordinary drawings, sketches and preparatory studies  and a large documentary section from the State Archives of Perugia.
The old underground passages of the Rocca Paolina Exhibition Centre instead, host the works of artists in which the influence of the great  painter are recognisable. Inside the St. Peter Basilica there are valuable miniatures made in Perugino’s time.
Città della Pieve, Perugino’s birth place, opens the doors of its elegant Palazzo della Corgna to an ample multidisciplinary exhibition that has the landscape as its theme.
The Regional Ceramic Museum of Deruta reunites precious ceramics dating from the XV to XVI centuries  coming from Italian and foreign collections.
In the Church of St.Francis in Corciano the theme of devotional painting is introduced, which in the late Perugino period had great fame.
