Perugino: What's newWhat has changed now that the exhibition has been extended until September 5th.The exhibitions in light of the arrival of new works in the exhibition - amongst which 14 illustrated manuscript pages from the miniatures of Monte Morcino and 2 from the Benedictine monks of the San Pietro Monastery in Perugia along with a signed illustrated book by Giacomo Caporali from the Archivio di Stato in Perugia – the Perugino exhibition has been enriched with even more important works which compensates for the departure of 3 paintings (San Sebastiano from the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, the Madonna col Bambino from the National Gallery of Art in Washington and the Madonna col bambino from the Gemaldegalerie in Berlin) which had to be returned to the lenders.
The exhibitions at the Centro Espositivo Rocca Paolina and at the San Pietro Monastery in Perugia, dedicated respectively to the theme of Myth and Fortune of Perugino and the Miniature in the time of Perugino, have terminated due to the nature of the works exhibited and their fragility. This has meant that several precious works, which demonstrate the skill and technique of the work of the illustratror, have been moved to the Galleria Nazionale where they will be installed together with the three remaining unique drawings from the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
